Coffee Drink Calorie Calculator
Estimate the calories in your coffee shop order from the milk, size, syrup pumps and whipped cream you add.
How it works
Calories = (base + milk-per-8oz + syrup pumps + whip) × size factor
A plain coffee is nearly calorie-free; almost everything in a coffee-shop drink comes from milk, sweet syrups and whipped cream, all scaled up by the cup size. This estimator combines the base drink, your milk choice, the number of syrup pumps and any whip, then multiplies by size — which is why a large flavored latte can rival a small meal. Switching to skim or almond milk and cutting a pump or two is the easiest saving.
Worked example
A medium whole-milk latte with 3 syrup pumps: base 60 + milk 110 + syrup 60 = about 230 kcal. Order it venti with whipped cream and it climbs past 400 kcal.
Frequently asked questions
Which milk is lowest in calories?
Unsweetened almond milk is usually the lightest at roughly 30 calories per 8 oz, followed by skim. Oat and whole milk are the heaviest. Choosing almond or skim over whole can cut 50–100 calories from a large drink.
How much do syrups add?
Flavored syrups run about 20 calories per pump, and large drinks default to four pumps. Asking for "half the syrup" or sugar-free syrup removes most of that with little change in taste.
Is black coffee really almost zero?
Yes — plain brewed coffee, espresso and unsweetened americanos are about 5 calories. The calories appear only when you add milk, sugar, syrup or cream.
