Crypto Loan Liquidation Price Calculator
Find the price at which a crypto-backed loan gets liquidated, the health factor, current LTV, how far the price can fall, and how much to repay or add to reach a safe health factor.
How it works
Collateral value = coins × price · health factor = collateral value × liquidation threshold ÷ debt · liquidation price = debt ÷ (coins × liquidation threshold) · LTV = debt ÷ collateral value · debt after t days = debt × e^(APR × t ÷ 365)
On lending protocols such as Aave and Compound, and on centralized crypto lenders, a loan stays open while the health factor is above 1 — that is, while the collateral value times the liquidation threshold still exceeds the debt. When the collateral price falls far enough, liquidators repay part of the loan and take collateral plus a bonus, so you lose more than the price move alone. Accruing interest slowly pushes the liquidation price up; the calculator lets you look ahead a number of days.
Worked example
Borrowing 30,000 against 1 coin worth 60,000 with an 80% liquidation threshold gives an LTV of 50.00% and a health factor of 60,000 × 0.80 ÷ 30,000 = 1.60. Liquidation happens when the price reaches 30,000 ÷ (1 × 0.80) = 37,500.00 — a 37.50% drop. To reach a 2.00 health factor you could repay 6,000 or add 0.25 more coins.

Frequently asked questions
What is a health factor?
It is collateral value × liquidation threshold ÷ debt. Above 1 the position is safe; at or below 1 it can be liquidated. Many users keep it above 1.5–2 to survive sudden price drops.
What is the difference between max LTV and liquidation threshold?
Max LTV is how much you may borrow when opening the loan; the liquidation threshold is the higher LTV at which liquidation starts. The gap between them is your initial safety margin.
How much do I lose in a liquidation?
Liquidators repay part of your debt and receive the equivalent collateral plus a liquidation bonus (penalty) — typically 4%–10% on major protocols — so you lose that extra on top of the price move.
How do I lower my liquidation price?
Repay part of the debt or add more collateral. The results show how much of either brings the health factor to 2.00.
