DoorDash Earnings Calculator
Dasher take-home per hour — base pay, promotions and tips per delivery, deliveries per hour, then mileage costs and tax with the standard deduction.
How it works
payout = deliveries × (base + promo + tip); net = payout − deliveries × miles × cost per mile; taxable = payout − miles × mileage rate
Delivery pay is mostly tips: base pay of $2–4 is often less than half of what a delivery earns, so tip-heavy areas and times matter more than the app’s hourly promise. Deliveries per hour depend on restaurant waits and stacking; two an hour is typical, three is good. Car costs at a quarter a mile eat a big share when deliveries average five miles — bikes and scooters keep far more of the payout in dense areas.
Worked example
20 hours at 2.2 deliveries/hour with $3 base, $0.75 promo and $4 tips: 44 deliveries, $341 payout. 220 miles cost $55, netting $286 — $14.30 an hour, roughly $13 after tax.
