Palindrome Date Calculator
Find the next palindrome dates from any day — in DD/MM/YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY and YYYYMMDD formats — and check whether a given date reads the same backwards.
How it works
A date is a palindrome when its digit string (DDMMYYYY, MMDDYYYY or YYYYMMDD) reads the same reversed
Palindrome dates depend entirely on how you write the date. In day-first countries 12 February 2021 (12022021) was one; Americans got 2 December 2021 (12022021) instead, and 2 February 2020 (02022020) worked in both. The eight-digit ISO form gives a palindrome only when the year’s reversed digits form a valid month and day, so they arrive in clusters: the 2020s host 02022020, 12022021 and 22022022 and then nothing until 2030.
Worked example
From 26 September 2026: the next day-first palindrome is 3 February 2030 (03022030) and the next month-first one is 2 March 2030 (03022030) — the same digits, different days.
Frequently asked questions
Why do the formats disagree?
Because the digit order differs — a palindrome in DDMMYYYY is rarely one in MMDDYYYY unless day and month coincide (02/02, 11/11).
How rare are they?
Eight-digit day-first palindromes number just 29 this century; the eight-digit ISO form has 12.
