How it works

Each tooth pair has a typical eruption window (ADA chart); dates = birth date + window in months

Baby teeth erupt in a fairly fixed order — lower central incisors first around six months, second molars last around two and a half — but the timing varies by months between healthy children, and a late first tooth (up to 12–15 months) is usually just family pattern. Lower teeth tend to precede uppers and girls slightly precede boys. Brush from the first tooth with a smear of fluoride toothpaste, and book the first dental visit by the first birthday.

Worked example

Born 12 January 2026: first tooth expected July–November 2026, first molars around February–August 2027, and the full set by about October 2028.

Frequently asked questions

Does teething cause fever?

Mild irritability, drooling and gum rubbing, yes; a true fever (38 °C+), diarrhoea or rash is not teething — check for illness.

When do baby teeth fall out?

From about six years, in roughly the same order they came in, finishing around 12.
