Age Gap Calculator
Compare two birth dates to find the exact age difference between two people — years, months, days and total days.
How it works
age gap = older birth date to younger birth date, walked as whole years, then months, then leftover days · also shown as total calendar days
The gap between two people is just the distance between their birth dates — it never changes as they age, because both grow older in lockstep. The calculator identifies who is older, then walks the calendar from the earlier birth date to the later one for an exact years-months-days figure, and also gives the total calendar days for a single clean number. Order of entry does not matter; it always reports a positive gap.
Worked example
One person born July 10, 1990 and another born February 25, 1993: the first is older by 2 years, 7 months, 15 days — about 960 days apart.
Frequently asked questions
Does the age gap change over time?
No. Because both people age at the same rate, the difference between their birth dates is fixed for life — the exact same number of days every day.
Does it matter which birth date I enter first?
No. The calculator finds the earlier date automatically and always reports a positive gap, telling you which person is older.
How is this different from the age difference calculator?
Both measure the span between two birth dates. This variant focuses on comparing two people directly — naming who is older and giving the gap in several units — rather than a person’s age at a reference date.
