Combine Score Calculator (Simple)
Blend your 40-yard dash, vertical jump and bench reps into one simple 0–100 athletic combine score.
How it works
speed = (5.2 − dash) ÷ 1.0 × 100 · power = (vertical − 20) ÷ 25 × 100 · strength = reps ÷ 40 × 100 · score = average of the three (each clamped 0–100)
This is a simple, transparent composite: each event is mapped onto a 0–100 scale using fixed anchor values, then the three sub-scores are averaged equally. It is not the official NFL combine formula (which is position-weighted and proprietary) but it lets you track balanced progress across speed, explosive power and upper-body strength. Because the weighting is equal, a specialist who is elite in one area but weak in another will score around the middle.
Worked example
A 4.6 s dash scores (5.2 − 4.6) ÷ 1.0 × 100 = 60. A 32 in vertical scores (32 − 20) ÷ 25 × 100 = 48. Twenty bench reps score 20 ÷ 40 × 100 = 50. The average is (60 + 48 + 50) ÷ 3 ≈ 53/100, "Solid".
Frequently asked questions
Is this the real NFL combine score?
No. The league uses position-specific, weighted models. This is a simple equal-weight blend meant for tracking your own progress across three core tests.
Why cap each score at 100?
The anchors define a realistic elite ceiling (a 4.2 s dash, 45 in vertical, 40 bench reps). Clamping keeps one freakish result from distorting the composite and guarantees a clean 0–100 range.
Can I use different events?
The math is generic — swap in broad jump or shuttle by remapping the anchors. This version fixes on the three most widely reported combine tests.
