How it works

Order = entrée + side + drink · Left = daily target − order

A combo meal is deceptively heavy because the side and drink often rival the main item. This calculator adds the three parts and measures them against your personal daily target so you can see the trade-off before ordering, then shows what is left for breakfast, dinner and snacks. Swapping the soda for water and downsizing the fries is usually the fastest way to bring a combo back under a third of the day.

Worked example

On a 2,000 kcal target, a 550 kcal burger, 340 kcal fries and a 210 kcal soda total 1,100 kcal — 55% of the day — leaving 900 kcal for everything else.

Frequently asked questions

What is a reasonable fast-food share of the day?

Keeping a single meal to roughly a third of your daily calories (about 650 kcal on a 2,000-calorie plan) leaves room for balanced meals the rest of the day. Combos frequently blow past that, mostly from the side and drink.

What is the single biggest saving?

Switching a sugary drink to water or a diet drink typically removes 150–300 calories instantly, with the downsized or skipped side close behind.

Where do I find the calorie numbers?

Most chains publish per-item calories on their website, app or in-store menu boards. Enter those for the main item, side and drink to get an accurate order total.
