Lyft Driver Earnings Calculator
Lyft driver take-home per hour and per week — fares after the platform share, bonuses and streaks, tips, then fuel, wear and tax with the mileage deduction.
How it works
payout = rides × (earnings per ride + tip) + bonuses; net = payout − miles × cost per mile; tax = (payout − miles × deduction) × rate
Lyft shows you what you earn per ride rather than a fixed commission, so the cleanest input is your own average from the earnings tab. Bonuses — ride streaks, challenges, guaranteed hourly promotions — can be a meaningful slice for part-timers who plan around them. As with any rideshare, the honest hourly figure subtracts the car: at a typical 28 cents a mile all-in, 17 miles an hour costs nearly $5 of every hour’s pay.
Worked example
25 hours, 50 rides at $10.50 plus $1.25 tips and $40 in bonuses: $627.50. 425 miles cost $119, leaving $508.50 — $20.34 an hour, about $18 after tax.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I find earnings per ride?
Lyft’s earnings tab lists it; divide a week’s ride earnings (excluding tips and bonuses) by ride count.
Are bonuses taxed?
Yes — all app payouts are income; only the car’s costs (or the mileage rate) offset them.
