Puppy Vaccination Schedule Calculator
Enter your puppy’s birth date to get the dates of every puppy shot: DAPP at 8, 12 and 16 weeks, rabies, the 6-month booster and optional leptospirosis and kennel cough — WSAVA and AAHA guidelines.
How it works
DAPP at 8, 12 and 16 weeks (every 2–4 weeks until ≥ 16 weeks) → booster at 26 weeks → every 3 years · rabies at 12–16 weeks → booster 1 year later · leptospirosis 2 doses 2–4 weeks apart from 8–12 weeks → yearly
The WSAVA (2024) and AAHA (2022) canine vaccination guidelines call DAPP — distemper, adenovirus, parvovirus and parainfluenza — and rabies the core vaccines every dog needs. Because antibodies from the mother can block the vaccine, puppies get DAPP every 2–4 weeks from 6–8 weeks until 16 weeks of age or older, then a booster at 26 weeks (or at one year), after which it is repeated no more often than every 3 years. Rabies is given once at 12–16 weeks, as local law requires, and boosted a year later. Leptospirosis and Bordetella (kennel cough) are lifestyle vaccines your vet recommends by risk.
Worked example
A puppy born on Aug 1, 2026 gets its first DAPP shot at 8 weeks on Sep 26, 2026, the second on Oct 24, 2026 and the third, with rabies, on Nov 21, 2026. It is considered protected from about Dec 5, 2026, and the 6-month booster falls on Jan 30, 2027.

Frequently asked questions
When does a puppy get its first shots?
Usually at 6–8 weeks of age, with boosters every 2–4 weeks until the puppy is at least 16 weeks old. This calculator uses 8, 12 and 16 weeks, the most common pattern.
When can my puppy go outside or meet other dogs?
Full protection comes about 1–2 weeks after the last puppy shot at 16 weeks or later. Before that, keep to safe places — your garden, carrying the puppy, or puppy classes that require vaccines — and avoid dog parks.
What vaccines are core for puppies?
Distemper, canine adenovirus (hepatitis), parvovirus and rabies are core everywhere; parainfluenza is usually in the same DAPP shot. Leptospirosis, Bordetella, Lyme disease and canine influenza depend on where you live and the dog’s lifestyle.
What if my puppy missed a shot?
Do not restart the series; give the next dose as soon as possible and continue every 2–4 weeks until the puppy is at least 16 weeks old. Your vet may add an extra dose if the gap was long.
