Redbubble Artist Margin Calculator
Redbubble earnings per sale — base price, your artist margin percentage, the retail price it produces and the account tier fee that comes off monthly earnings.
How it works
retail = base × (1 + margin); artist earnings = base × margin; tier fee = (monthly earnings − threshold) × fee %
Redbubble sets a base price per product that covers manufacturing and its own cut; you choose a markup — the artist margin — and the retail price is base plus markup. Your earnings are the markup alone, so a 20% margin on a $16 shirt is $3.26, about 16% of what the customer pays. Standard-tier accounts have a monthly fee deducted from earnings above a threshold; higher tiers are exempt. Raising margins lifts earnings per sale but can cost sales in a price-sensitive marketplace.
Worked example
Base $16.32 at 20% margin: retail $19.58, you earn $3.26 a sale — $130.56 a month on 40 sales before any tier fee.
