Screen Time in a Lifetime Calculator
Turn your daily phone, TV and computer hours into years of your life spent on screens — so far and projected to life expectancy.
How it works
Years = daily hours × 365.25 × years of use ÷ 8,766 hours per year
Average adults now log 6–7 screen hours a day across devices. Over a lifetime that is a couple of decades — more than most people will spend eating, exercising and socialising in person combined. The point is not guilt but scale: an hour a day reclaimed is two to three extra years of something else.
Worked example
3.5 h phone since 15, plus 3 h TV and computer since childhood, at age 30: about 4.7 years so far; 13.3 more years by 80.
