Sprint End Date Calculator
Find the exact end date of an agile sprint from its start date and length, plus when the next sprint begins.
How it works
sprint end = start date + (weeks × 7 × sprints) − 1 day · next sprint start = end + 1 day
An agile sprint is a fixed-length timebox, most often one to four weeks. The last day of the sprint is the start date plus the sprint length minus one day, because the start day itself counts as day one — a two-week sprint beginning Monday the 14th runs through Sunday the 27th, and the next sprint opens Monday the 28th. Chaining sprints simply multiplies the length, which is handy for laying out a program increment or release train across several iterations.
Worked example
A 2-week sprint starting Monday, September 14, 2026 spans 14 calendar days, so it ends Sunday, September 27, 2026 and the next sprint starts Monday, September 28, 2026. Those two weeks contain 10 working days (Mon–Fri).
Frequently asked questions
Should the sprint end on a Friday or the Sunday?
This tool returns the last calendar day of the timebox. Many teams hold the review and retrospective on the final working day (Friday) and start the next sprint the following Monday — the "next sprint starts" date reflects that when the length is a whole number of weeks.
Does the start day count as day one?
Yes. A 14-day sprint includes the start date, so it covers 14 days total and ends 13 days after it begins. That is why the formula subtracts one day.
Can I plan a whole program increment?
Set the number of sprints to chain several back-to-back — for example five 2-week sprints gives a common 10-week SAFe program increment, and the calculator shows its end date and total working days.
