Tithe Calculator
Work out your tithe from your income at any percentage, and see what remains — for monthly, weekly or yearly giving.
How it works
Tithe = income × tithe% · Remainder = income − tithe
A tithe is a portion of income set aside for giving, traditionally a tenth (10%). This calculator multiplies your income by whatever percentage you choose, shows what remains, and annualizes the amount based on how often you receive that income. Whether to tithe on gross or net income, and at what percentage, is a personal and often faith-based choice — the tool simply does the arithmetic.
Worked example
On $5,000 of monthly income, a 10% tithe is $500, leaving $4,500. Given every month, that adds up to about $6,000 of giving over a year.
Frequently asked questions
Should I tithe on gross or net income?
This is a personal decision, and people of good faith land on both. Some give on gross (before taxes and deductions) as the fuller measure of increase; others give on net take-home pay. Use whichever figure reflects your own conviction.
Does the tithe have to be exactly 10%?
Ten percent is the traditional benchmark, but the percentage is up to you. Some give more as a freewill offering, others start smaller and grow over time. Enter any percentage that fits your circumstances and beliefs.
How do I budget for giving?
Treating the tithe as the first line of your budget — set aside before other spending — is a common approach. Splitting it to match each paycheck, as this calculator can annualize, makes it steady and manageable rather than a lump sum.
