Turo Host Earnings Calculator
What a Turo host keeps per trip and per month — your protection plan’s share (60–90%), trip days, extras, delivery fees and the real costs of depreciation, cleaning and maintenance.
How it works
earnings = (daily price × days + extras) × plan %; trip profit = earnings − cleaning − wear per mile × miles; monthly = trips × trip profit − fixed costs
Turo does not charge a fee as such — the protection plan you pick sets the share you keep, from 90% (you carry a large deductible) down to 60% (Turo covers most damage). Gross trip price includes extras and delivery you charge. The numbers hosts miss are the per-mile depreciation and wear on the car and the fixed monthly cost of owning it; a car that sits unbooked most of the month can lose money even at a high daily rate.
Worked example
3 days at $55 plus $20 extras = $185; the 80 plan pays $148. Cleaning $12 and 300 miles at $0.12 leave $100 per trip; six trips a month minus $350 fixed costs nets $250.
Frequently asked questions
Which plan should I choose?
Newer or pricier cars usually warrant more coverage (lower %); an older car with few claims can take the 85 or 90 plan.
Are Turo earnings taxable?
Yes — as rental or business income, with the car costs deductible. Keep mileage and expense records.
