How it works

Price per video = base rate × (1 + usage % + whitelisting % + raw footage % + rush %) + extra hooks × price per hook · Package total = price per video × number of videos

UGC creators sell short videos that brands post as if made by a customer. The base rate covers concept, filming and editing with organic rights only. When the brand runs the video as a paid ad, creators charge for usage rights by duration, and add fees for whitelisting (the brand runs ads from the creator’s handle), raw footage and rush delivery. The percentages here are typical add-ons quoted in creator pricing guides; edit the base rate to match your experience and niche. Ads that use your content must still be disclosed under advertising rules such as the FTC Endorsement Guides.

Worked example

Three videos at a $150 base rate with 90 days of paid usage (+50%) and two extra hooks at $25 each: each video costs $150 × 1.50 + 2 × $25 = $275.00, so the package total is 3 × $275.00 = $825.00.

Frequently asked questions

How much should a beginner charge for UGC?

New creators commonly start around 100–200 per video for organic use and raise rates as their portfolio grows. Experienced creators with strong results often charge 300 or more per video before usage rights.

What are usage rights in UGC?

Usage rights let the brand use your video in paid ads for a set period. Because ads can earn the brand far more than an organic post, creators charge an extra 30–100% of the base fee for 30 days to 12 months, and more for perpetual rights.

What is whitelisting?

Whitelisting (also called creator licensing or Spark Ads) lets the brand run ads through your social account so they show your name. It uses your audience and reputation, so it is priced as an add-on, often around 30% or a monthly fee.

Should I charge for hooks and raw footage?

Yes. Extra hooks — alternative first seconds of the video — let the brand test ads, and raw footage lets them re-edit your work. Both add value to the brand and are usually priced separately.
