Weighted Decision Score Calculator
Score one option against weighted criteria to get a single decision number — a simple weighted-average decision matrix.
How it works
Score = Σ(weight × score) ÷ Σ(weight)
A weighted decision score collapses several judgment calls into one comparable number by multiplying each criterion's score by how much it matters and dividing by the total weight. Because it divides by the sum of the weights, the result stays on the same 0–10 scale as the individual scores no matter what weights you choose. Run the same criteria for each option you are comparing and the highest score points to the best-balanced choice.
Worked example
Weights 5, 3, 2 with scores 8, 6, 9: the weighted sum is 5×8 + 3×6 + 2×9 = 40 + 18 + 18 = 76, divided by the total weight 10 gives a score of 7.6 out of 10.
Frequently asked questions
How do I compare several options?
Keep the weights the same and re-enter each option's scores. The option with the highest weighted score is the strongest fit given your priorities.
Do the weights have to add up to 100?
No. Any positive numbers work because the formula divides by their total, so weights of 5, 3, 2 behave the same as 50, 30, 20.
What if a criterion should not count?
Set its weight to zero and it drops out of the average entirely, no matter what score you give it.
