Boxing Punch Stats Calculator
Break down boxing punch output CompuBox-style: connect percentage, jab vs power punch accuracy, and punches landed per round.
How it works
Connect % = landed ÷ thrown × 100 · Power punches = total − jabs · Power accuracy = power landed ÷ power thrown × 100 · Per round = total ÷ rounds
Boxing scorers such as CompuBox split punches into jabs and power punches (everything that is not a jab) and track how many of each land. Overall connect rate blends the two, but the jab and power splits reveal style — a high-volume jabber lands a lower percentage, while power punches connect more often but are thrown less. Per-round figures let you compare output across fights of different lengths.
Worked example
From 600 thrown and 200 landed, connect % = 200 ÷ 600 = 33.3%. With 350 jabs (90 landed), jab accuracy is 90 ÷ 350 = 25.7%. Power punches = 600 − 350 = 250 thrown, 200 − 90 = 110 landed, so power accuracy = 110 ÷ 250 = 44.0%. Over 12 rounds that is 16.7 landed per round.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good connect percentage?
Roughly 30% overall is typical at a high level. Jabs land less often (around 20–30%) because many are range-finders, while power punches connect closer to 35–50%.
How are power punches defined?
Any punch that is not a jab — hooks, crosses, uppercuts and body shots. This calculator treats power punches as total punches minus jabs, matching the CompuBox convention.
Why track punches per round?
Fights differ in length, so totals alone can mislead. Punches thrown and landed per round put a four-round bout and a twelve-round bout on the same footing for comparing work rate.
