How it works
Grams = total water (ml) ÷ 100 × strength grams-per-100ml
Brew strength is grams of coffee per 100 ml of water. Multiply your total water by the strength you like, then convert to scoops (about 10 g) or tablespoons (about 6 g) if you don’t have a scale.
Worked example
4 cups of 240 ml at medium strength is ~60 g, about 6 scoops.
Frequently asked questions
How big is a coffee scoop?
A standard scoop is about 2 tablespoons, roughly 10 g of ground coffee.
Why weigh instead of scoop?
Bean density varies, so scoops are inconsistent. Weighing gives the same strength every time.
