Discogs Seller Fee Calculator
What you net selling records on Discogs — 9% marketplace fee on item plus shipping, PayPal processing, VAT on the fee if applicable and your profit per record.
How it works
Discogs fee = 9% × (price + shipping); PayPal = gross × % + fixed; net = gross − fees − tax on fee
Discogs charges a flat 9% of the total order value including shipping, billed monthly, with no listing fees. Payment runs through PayPal (or Discogs Payments in some regions) at the merchant rate, and sellers in VAT countries pay tax on the Discogs fee itself. Because shipping is inside the fee base, over-charging postage does not escape the commission — price the record and postage honestly and the numbers work.
Worked example
A $30 record with $8 shipping: $3.42 Discogs fee and $1.82 PayPal leave $32.76; after $16 of costs, $16.76 profit — a 56% margin.
