How it works

score = a fixed hash of the two names, mapped to a 40–99% range (order of the names does not matter)

This is pure entertainment, not science — real compatibility comes from people, not spelling. The score is produced by hashing the letters of both names, so the same pair of names always returns the same number, and swapping their order gives an identical result. There is no prediction here, just a repeatable bit of fun.

Worked example

Enter “Alex” and “Sam” and you will get the same percentage every single time, and “Sam” with “Alex” returns that exact number too — because the calculation only looks at the letters, ignoring who was typed first.

Frequently asked questions

Is this actually accurate?

Not at all — it is a game. It has zero predictive power over any relationship. Treat it as a fun icebreaker, nothing more.

Why do I get the same score every time?

Because the result comes from a fixed calculation on the letters of the names. The same names always produce the same score, which is what makes it repeatable rather than random.

Does the order of the names matter?

No. The two names are sorted before scoring, so “Alex + Sam” and “Sam + Alex” give exactly the same percentage.
