Webinar & Event ROI Calculator
Measure the return on a webinar or event: pipeline and revenue from attendees who convert, net profit after cost, ROI percentage and cost per lead.
How it works
Customers = attendees × conversion rate · Revenue = customers × avg revenue per customer · ROI = (revenue − cost) ÷ cost × 100
Event ROI runs the funnel from attendees to closed revenue and compares that revenue to what the event cost. The conversion rate is the sensitive lever: a webinar with modest attendance but a strong offer can beat a packed one that never turns interest into customers. Attributing revenue honestly matters — count only deals the event genuinely influenced, and use average deal value rather than a single outlier so one big contract does not flatter the result.
Worked example
250 attendees converting at 6% win 15 customers. At $1,200 average revenue that is $18,000, and after a $4,000 cost the profit is $14,000 — an ROI of 14,000 ÷ 4,000 = 350%.
Frequently asked questions
How do I define an attendee-to-customer rate?
Divide the number of customers the event influenced by the number of attendees. Keep the window realistic — count deals closed within your typical sales cycle after the event, not months of unrelated pipeline.
Should I include staff time in the cost?
For a true ROI, yes — add the loaded cost of the hours your team spent preparing and presenting to the platform, promotion and production costs. Leaving out labor overstates the return.
What ROI should a webinar target?
There is no universal number, but many B2B teams look for at least a 3:1 revenue-to-cost return (200% ROI) once labor is included. Compare against your other marketing channels rather than an absolute bar.
