How it works

days until = wedding date − from date · a positive result counts down to the day; a negative result counts how long you have been married

The countdown is the number of days between today and the wedding date, broken into weeks and days and into months and days so a long engagement is easier to visualise. If the wedding date is in the past, the tool flips into an anniversary count and reports how long you have been married in years, months and days. It counts whole calendar days, so it is unaffected by daylight saving changes.

Worked example

From September 15, 2026 to a wedding on June 19, 2027 there are 277 days — about 39 weeks and 4 days, or 9 months and 4 days, until the ceremony.

Frequently asked questions

What if my wedding date has already passed?

The calculator switches to an anniversary view and shows how long you have been married in years, months and days, plus the total days together.

Does it count the wedding day itself?

The day count is the number of days between your start date and the wedding date, so it reaches zero on the day itself. On that day the result reads “today is the big day”.

Why show both weeks and months?

Vendors and planners often work in weeks (dress fittings, RSVPs) while the emotional countdown feels more natural in months. Showing both saves you converting between them.
