Days Until a Date Calculator
Count down the days, weeks and working days from today to any future date, with the full calendar breakdown.
How it works
days until = target − start date · weeks = days ÷ 7 · working days count Mon–Fri after the start through the target
The countdown subtracts the two calendar dates, so weekends, month lengths and leap days are all baked into the total. It also splits the gap into years-months-days and counts only the Monday-to-Friday days, which is what matters for a work or shipping deadline. Public holidays are not removed, since they differ by country and employer. If the target is in the past, the calculator swaps the dates and marks the result as already passed.
Worked example
From 15 Sep 2026 to Christmas on 25 Dec 2026 is 101 days — about 14.4 weeks, or 3 months and 10 days. Of those, 73 are working days before you subtract any public holidays.
Frequently asked questions
Is the target date itself counted?
The day count is the plain difference between the two dates, so the start day is not counted and the target day is the endpoint. For working days, the start is excluded and the target is included when it is a weekday.
Does it remove public holidays?
No — holiday calendars vary by country, state and employer. Count the working days here, then subtract any holidays that fall on a weekday in your range.
What if I put a past date?
The dates are swapped so the count is always positive, and the result is labelled "ago" to show the date is behind you.
