Aggregate Marks Calculator
Add up subject marks to get the aggregate, overall percentage and best-of-five (or best-of-N) percentage, with the weakest subject flagged.
How it works
Aggregate % = Σ marks ÷ (subjects × max) × 100; best-of-N uses only the N highest
Aggregate is the plain total across subjects. Many boards and colleges compute admission percentages on the best five subjects (CBSE class 12 “best of five”, Delhi University’s best-of-four), which drops the weakest score. Check whether a specific subject such as English or a core science must be included in your case.
Worked example
Marks 92, 85, 78, 88, 74, 81 out of 100: aggregate 498/600 = 83%; best of five = 424/500 = 84.8%.
Frequently asked questions
What if subjects have different maximum marks?
Convert each to a percentage first, or enter them in the same units; this tool assumes one maximum for all.
Does best-of-five include the lowest compulsory subject?
Rules differ by board and college; many require one language in the five.
