Amazon Profit After Fees & PPC Calculator
See what an Amazon sale actually nets you after the referral fee, FBA fulfillment fee and your PPC advertising cost — the real per-unit profit and margin.
How it works
Net profit = price − COGS − referral% × price − FBA fee − ACoS% × price · Net margin = profit ÷ price × 100
Amazon takes a percentage referral fee on the full sale price plus a fixed FBA fulfillment fee, and your PPC spend eats into every advertised sale on top of that. Sellers who price only against product cost are routinely surprised to find PPC turning a healthy-looking margin negative. Expressing ad spend as ACoS makes it scale with price, so you can see the true contribution of each unit before overhead.
Worked example
A $25 unit costing $7 with a 15% referral fee ($3.75), a $5.50 FBA fee and 20% ACoS ($5.00) nets 25 − 7 − 3.75 − 5.50 − 5.00 = $3.75, a 15% margin. Push ACoS to 35% and the ad cost rises to $8.75, cutting profit to $1.00.
Frequently asked questions
What is ACoS and how does it differ from PPC spend?
ACoS (advertising cost of sale) is your ad spend divided by the sales those ads generated, expressed as a percentage. A 20% ACoS means you spent $0.20 on ads for every $1 of advertised revenue, so on a $25 sale the ad cost is $5. It scales the PPC cost with price automatically.
Does this include Amazon storage or long-term fees?
No — this is per-sale profit covering the referral fee, FBA fulfillment fee and PPC. Monthly and long-term storage fees are separate; use the FBA storage calculators to layer those on top before judging overall profitability.
Why is my real Amazon margin lower than my gross margin?
Gross margin only subtracts product cost. Amazon takes a referral percentage on the whole price and a fixed fulfillment fee, and advertising claims a further slice of each sale — together they often halve the margin you see before fees.
