Clock Out Time Calculator
Find what time you can clock out (leave work) from your clock-in time, the hours you need to work and your unpaid break, with a table of leave times for 4 to 12 paid hours.
How it works
clock-out time = clock-in time + paid hours + unpaid break · time at work = paid hours + break
If your day is a fixed number of paid hours, your leaving time is simply your start time plus those hours plus any unpaid break — a 30-minute unpaid lunch pushes the end of an 8-hour day from 16:30 to 17:00 after an 08:30 start. Paid breaks are already part of the paid hours, so leave the break at 0 for those. The table shows when you would leave for other day lengths, handy for flexitime, half days or overtime.
Worked example
You clock in at 08:30, need 8 paid hours and take a 30-minute unpaid lunch. You can clock out at 17:00 (5:00 PM), after 8 h 30 min at work. For a 9-hour day you would leave at 18:00.
Frequently asked questions
What time do I clock out after 8 hours?
Add 8 hours plus your unpaid break to your start time. Starting at 08:30 with a 30-minute lunch, you clock out at 17:00; with no unpaid break, at 16:30.
Should I include my lunch break?
Only if it is unpaid. An unpaid break adds to the time you are at work; a paid break is already inside your paid hours.
What if my shift goes past midnight?
The calculator shows the clock-out time and marks it as the next day.
Can I enter times in 12-hour format?
Yes — type 8:30 am or 1:15 pm, or use 24-hour time such as 08:30 or 13:15.
