Days Married Calculator
Count exactly how many days you have been married, in weeks and years too, and see the countdown to your next anniversary.
How it works
days married = today − wedding date · years, months, days by calendar walking
The headline is an exact calendar-day count from your wedding date to today, leap days included, so it never equals years × 365. The years-months-days breakdown walks the real calendar — whole years to your anniversary, then whole months, then leftover days — which is why it always ticks over a clean year on the wedding date. The weeks figure is simply the days divided by seven.
Worked example
Married May 15, 2010 and checked on September 16, 2026: that is 5,968 days, or 852 weeks, 4 days. Walking the calendar it is 16 years, 4 months, 1 day — about 16.34 years — and your next anniversary is 241 days away on May 15, 2027.
Frequently asked questions
Why is days married not exactly years × 365?
Because leap years add a day every four years. Sixteen years of marriage includes four leap days, so the true day count runs a few days ahead of 16 × 365.
Does the count include the wedding day itself?
No — it counts elapsed days, so the day after the wedding is 1. Add 1 if you prefer to count the wedding day as day one.
How is the next anniversary found?
It is the next time your wedding month and day come around; if that has already passed this year it looks to next year, and on the day itself it reads zero.
