How it works

milestone date = date of birth + N years (same month and day) · days to go = milestone date − today · days old = milestone date − date of birth

The calculator adds your milestone age in whole years to your date of birth, so the result is always your real birthday in that year. It then counts whole calendar days from today (or the date you choose under More options) to that birthday, and also shows the gap in weeks and in years, months and days. Once the milestone has passed it shows how long ago it was. The first table lists the common big birthdays (13, 15, 16, 18, 21 and each decade, plus 65 and 75) from the most recent ones onward, with their weekdays. The second lists day-count milestones such as your 10,000th day (about age 27.4) and 1 billion seconds (11,574 days, about age 31.7), counted from the start of your birth date. For a February 29 birthday you can choose whether non-leap years use February 28 or March 1. Both conventions are in use, and the legal rule differs from country to country.

Worked example

Born June 15, 1990 and counting to 40 from October 26, 2026: the 40th birthday is Saturday, June 15, 2030. That is 1,328 days away, or 189 weeks and 5 days, which is 3 years, 7 months and 20 days. You are 36 years, 4 months and 11 days old that day, 13,282 days old, and you will be 14,610 days old on your 40th. Your 10,000th day was Tuesday, October 31, 2017.

Frequently asked questions

How many days until I turn 18?

Enter your date of birth and 18 as the milestone age. The day after your 17th birthday there are 365 days to go, or 366 when a February 29 falls in between.

Which birthdays count as milestones?

Common ones are 13, 15 (quinceañera), 16, 18, 21, 30, 40, 50, 60, 65, 75, 90 and 100, but you can count to any age from 1 to 130.

When will I be 10,000 days old?

Add 10,000 days to your date of birth, which is about 27 years and 4.5 months. The second table shows it, along with 20,000 days, 1,000 weeks and 1 billion seconds.

What if my birthday is February 29?

Choose under More options whether common years use February 28 or March 1. In leap years the milestone lands on the real February 29.

Does the count include today?

No. It counts the days still to come, so the day before your birthday reads 1 and the birthday itself reads 0.
