How it works

Fee = flat fee if price < threshold, else price × commission% · You earn = price − fee · Profit = you earn − item cost

Poshmark uses a two-tier commission: a single flat fee on low-price sales and a percentage on everything at or above a threshold (commonly a $2.95 flat fee under $15 and 20% at $15 and up). That makes the flat fee a very high effective rate on cheap items and the percentage a flat 20% on higher ones. This tool applies whichever tier the price falls into, shows the effective rate, and subtracts your item cost so you know the real take-home. Shipping is normally paid by the buyer, so it is not deducted here. Every value is editable.

Worked example

A $35 sale is at or above the $15 threshold, so Poshmark takes 20% = $7.00, paying you $28.00 — a 20% effective rate. After a $10 item cost you keep $18.00, a 51.4% margin. A $12 sale instead pays the flat $2.95, leaving $9.05, which is a 24.6% effective rate.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Poshmark take per sale?

For sales under the threshold (about $15) Poshmark charges a flat fee of roughly $2.95; at or above it the fee is a percentage of the sale, commonly 20%. The flat fee is a much higher effective rate on cheap items, which is why bundling low-value pieces into one order usually nets you more.

Does the buyer or seller pay shipping on Poshmark?

The buyer pays a flat shipping fee at checkout, so it does not come out of your earnings and is not deducted here. Your take-home is the sale price minus Poshmark’s commission only, then minus what the item cost you.

Why is my effective fee rate above 20% on cheap items?

Because the flat fee does not shrink with the price. A $2.95 fee on a $6 sale is nearly 50%, while on a $12 sale it is about 25% — always above the 20% percentage tier. Raising a low price just above the threshold can sometimes leave you with more after the fee.
