Streak Days From a Start Date Calculator
Count your current streak from the day you began — day number, full days completed, years, months, weeks and hours, your own goal, a milestone calendar with dates, and the money and time saved.
How it works
day number = days since start + 1 · full days completed = days since start · next milestone = first milestone above your count · milestone date = start + milestone days (− 1 when the start date counts as day 1) · money saved = full days × cost per day
A streak counts unbroken days from the moment you started, so today’s day number is the days elapsed since the start date plus one — the start date itself is day one. The "full days completed" figure is the plain elapsed count, which is how most sobriety and quit-smoking counters measure time. The calculator also shows the streak in years, months and days, in weeks, months and hours, and how many days are left to the next round-number milestone and to your own goal, with the exact date you will reach each. The milestone calendar lists every 7-, 30-, 100- or 1,000-day mark and each yearly anniversary, marking which ones you have already reached. Under More options you can switch milestones to count the start date as day 1, and add what the habit you stopped used to cost per day and how much time it took, to see the money and hours you have saved so far.
Worked example
Starting June 1, 2026 and checking on September 16 is 107 days later — so you are on day 108 of the streak, with 107 full days completed (3 months, 15 days, or about 2,568 hours) and 43 days to go to the 150-day milestone, which falls on Thursday, October 29, 2026. A 365-day goal is 29.3% done and arrives on Tuesday, June 1, 2027. If the habit cost $8 a day, you have saved $856.
Frequently asked questions
Is the start date day 1 or day 0?
Both conventions are shown. The current streak counts the start date itself as day 1, so the day number is always one more than the full days completed. Milestones use full days by default; switch “Count milestones by” to Day number if your app celebrates day 30 on the 30th day.
When do I reach 30, 90 or 365 days?
With full days completed, the 30-day mark is the date 30 days after you started. The 365-day mark falls on your first anniversary, or one day before it when the year includes February 29. The milestone calendar lists the exact date of each mark and anniversary.
How is money saved calculated?
It multiplies the full days completed by the daily cost you enter. For example, a pack of cigarettes at $10 a day over 100 days is $1,000. It is a simple estimate that ignores price changes.
What if I set a future start date?
The calculator tells you how many days until the streak begins rather than showing a negative count, so a mistyped date is easy to spot.
What if I missed a day?
A streak is unbroken by definition, so after a break enter the date you started again. To count total days since a first start regardless of breaks, keep the original date and treat the result as days since you began.
