How it works

expiry date = purchase date + warranty term · days left = expiry − today

A warranty term is added to the purchase date using real calendar months or years — a 24-month warranty bought on June 1 runs to June 1 two years later, not 730 days later — so month-length differences and leap days never shift the date. The calculator then counts the exact days of cover remaining, flags whether you are still inside the term, and shows the last covered day so you can raise a claim in time.

Worked example

Bought June 1, 2024 with a 24-month warranty: cover runs to Monday, June 1, 2026. Checked on September 16, 2026 that has already passed, so the item is out of warranty by 107 days. A 36-month term instead would run to June 1, 2027, leaving 258 days of cover.

Frequently asked questions

Does the warranty start at purchase or delivery?

It varies by manufacturer — many start at the purchase or invoice date, some at delivery or installation. Check the terms and enter whichever date applies; keep the receipt as proof.

Is the last day inclusive?

This calculator treats the expiry date itself as the final covered day, so “expires today” still counts as in-warranty. Raise any claim before the date to be safe, as processing can take time.

What about an extended warranty?

Enter the total covered term. If an extended plan adds to the base warranty, add the two terms together, or set the purchase date and full combined length.
