How it works

Fees = revenue×selling% + (revenue×Depop-Payments% + fixed) · Profit = price + shipping − fees − item cost (revenue = price + shipping)

Depop’s selling costs are a selling fee (a percentage of the sale) plus Depop Payments processing — a percentage of the total plus a small fixed amount. Both are charged on the item price plus any shipping the buyer pays. This tool adds them up, subtracts your item cost, and shows your payout, profit and margin. Depop has changed its fees by region — notably dropping the flat selling fee in some markets — so every rate is editable; set the selling fee to 0 if it no longer applies to you.

Worked example

Selling a $20 item that cost $5 with no separate shipping: selling fee 10% = $2.00, Depop Payments 3.3% + $0.45 = $1.11. Total fees $3.11, so you receive $16.89 and, after the $5 cost, keep $11.89 — a 59.5% margin. Set the selling fee to 0 and profit rises to $13.89.

Frequently asked questions

Has Depop removed its selling fee?

Depop dropped the flat 10% selling fee for sellers in some regions (including the US) and shifted costs toward buyers and payment processing. The selling-fee field defaults to 10% for markets where it still applies — set it to 0 if your account no longer pays it.

What is Depop Payments?

Depop Payments is the platform’s built-in checkout. Its processing fee is a percentage of the sale plus a small fixed amount, similar to a card processor. Enter your region’s rate in the Depop Payments and fixed-fee fields.

Does the fee include shipping?

If the buyer pays shipping through Depop, that amount is part of the sale the percentage fees are charged on. This calculator adds shipping into revenue — set it to 0 if you post at your own cost or offer free shipping.
