How it works
Fees = revenue×selling% + (revenue×processing% + fixed) · Profit = price + shipping − fees − item cost (revenue = price + shipping)
Mercari charges a selling fee as a percentage of the sale, plus a payment-processing fee — a percentage of the total plus a small fixed amount. Both apply to the item price plus any shipping the buyer pays through Mercari. This tool adds the selling fee and processing fee, subtracts your item cost, and shows your payout, profit and margin. Mercari has revised its fee structure more than once, so every rate here is editable to match the current terms on your sale.
Worked example
Selling a $20 item that cost $5 with no separate shipping: selling fee 10% = $2.00, processing 2.9% + $0.50 = $1.08. Total fees $3.08, so you receive $16.92 and, after the $5 cost, keep $11.92 — a 59.6% margin.

Does the Mercari fee apply to shipping?
When the buyer pays for shipping through Mercari, that amount is part of the sale total the percentage fees are calculated on. This calculator includes shipping in the revenue the fees are based on — set shipping to 0 for free-shipping or buyer-arranged postage.
What is the difference between the selling fee and the processing fee?
The selling fee is Mercari’s commission on the sale; the processing fee covers card and payment handling and is a percentage plus a fixed cents amount. They are listed separately so you can update either one as the terms change.
