Exam Countdown Calculator
Count down to exam day and see how much study time you have left — days until the test and total revision hours at your daily pace.
How it works
days until exam = exam date − from date · study time available = days remaining × study hours per day
Beyond the raw countdown, the useful figure before an exam is how much revision time you actually have. Multiplying the days remaining by the hours you can realistically study each day turns the calendar into a study budget, which you can divide across your subjects or topics. The countdown is also shown in weeks and days so you can plan a revision timetable rather than cram.
Worked example
From September 15, 2026 to an exam on December 10, 2026 there are 86 days. Studying 2 hours a day gives 172 hours of revision time — about 14 hours a week to spread across your topics.
Frequently asked questions
How should I use the study-time figure?
Treat it as a budget. Divide the total hours across the topics or subjects you need to cover, leaving slack for review and practice papers. It assumes you study every remaining day at the pace you enter.
Does it exclude weekends or rest days?
No — it counts every calendar day. If you only study on certain days, lower the daily-hours figure so the total reflects your real weekly effort, or plan around the weeks-remaining number.
What if the exam is today?
The countdown reads zero and wishes you luck. Study time available is zero at that point, so the planning value comes from running it well before the day.
