Free Trial End Date Calculator
Find the exact day a free trial ends and the day to cancel by so you are never charged for a subscription you forgot.
How it works
first charge = trial start + trial length · last free day = first charge − 1 day
A “14-day free trial” starting on the 1st typically bills on the 15th — the trial covers the start day plus the following days, and the first charge lands the day after the last free day. The calculator adds the trial length in days, weeks or months to the start date to find that billing date, then works back one day for the last free day and the cancel-by date. Cancelling on the last free day almost always still lets you use the service until it ends.
Worked example
A 14-day trial starting September 1, 2026 bills on Tuesday, September 15, 2026; the last free day is September 14, so cancel on or before then. A 1-month trial from the same date would instead bill on October 1.
Frequently asked questions
Does the trial include the start day?
This calculator counts the start day as day one of the trial, so a 14-day trial from the 1st runs through the 14th and bills on the 15th. A few services bill on the 14th instead — check the confirmation email and shift by a day if needed.
When should I cancel to avoid a charge?
On or before the last free day shown. Most services let you keep access until the trial ends even after you cancel, so cancelling early is the safe move.
Why are month-long trials not just 30 days?
A monthly trial follows the calendar, so a trial from January 31 bills on February 28 or 29, and one from the 1st always bills on the 1st of the next month — not a flat 30 days later.
