Hours Logged This Week Calculator
Add up hours worked across the week from daily entries, with your total, days worked, daily average, and how you stand against a target.
How it works
total = sum of daily hours · average = total ÷ days with hours > 0 · vs target = total − weekly target
A weekly hour total is just the sum of each day’s logged time, but the useful signals sit alongside it: how many days you actually worked, your average on those days, and where you stand against a target. Averaging only over days with hours (not all seven) avoids diluting a four-day week with empty weekends. Comparing the total to a target turns the tally into a running check — how much overtime you have banked, or how many hours are left to hit a contracted week.
Worked example
Logging 8 hours Monday to Friday and nothing at the weekend gives 40 hours across 5 days — an 8-hour daily average, exactly meeting a 40-hour target with nothing over.
Frequently asked questions
How do I enter part-hours?
Use decimals: 15 minutes is 0.25, 30 minutes is 0.5, 45 minutes is 0.75. So 7 hours 30 minutes is 7.5.
Why average only over days worked?
Dividing by seven would understate your typical day if you work fewer days. Averaging over days with hours greater than zero reflects your real working pace.
What does the target comparison show?
If your total is above the target, it reports the overtime; if below, it shows how many hours remain to reach it. Set the target to your contracted or planned week.
