Tarot Birth Card Calculator
Find your tarot birth cards from your date of birth with Mary K. Greer’s method: add the month, day and year, reduce to a Major Arcana card (1–22) and its soul card.
How it works
Total = month + day + year · add the digits of the total, and again while the result is above 22 · the result is the personality card (1–21, 22 = The Fool); a result of 10 or more is reduced once more to give the soul card (22 pairs with 4)
This is the birth-card method popularized by tarot author Mary K. Greer: the date of birth is turned into a number from 1 to 22 that names a Major Arcana card in the Rider–Waite–Smith order (Strength 8, Justice 11). Cards 10 to 21 reduce again to a single-digit “soul card”, so every birth date gives a pair (or a single card for 1–9); 19 gives a trio, the Sun, the Wheel of Fortune and the Magician. Tarot birth cards are a reflective game with no scientific basis — read them for fun.
Worked example
Born July 14, 1988: 7 + 14 + 1988 = 2009; 2 + 0 + 0 + 9 = 11, so the personality card is Justice (11). Reducing again, 1 + 1 = 2 gives the soul card, The High Priestess (2).

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my tarot birth card?
Add your birth month, day and year as numbers, then add the digits of the total until you get 22 or less. Born July 14, 1988: 7 + 14 + 1988 = 2009 → 2 + 0 + 0 + 9 = 11, Justice.
What is the soul card?
If the birth card is 10 or more, add its two digits to get a single-digit card: 11 Justice reduces to 2 The High Priestess. For cards 1 to 9 the birth card and soul card are the same.
Why do some calculators give a different card?
Some sites add every single digit of the date instead of the month, day and year, or reduce 22 differently, which can give another card. This tool follows the month + day + year method and treats 22 as The Fool paired with The Emperor.
Is the tarot birth card scientific?
No. It is numerology applied to tarot symbolism and is meant for reflection and entertainment, not prediction.
