Vinted Fee Calculator: Buyer Protection Fee, Buyer Total and Your Payout
See what a Vinted sale really costs the buyer and what you keep: the buyer protection fee (5% + 0.70 on Vinted US, 3–8% + 0.30–0.80 on Vinted UK and Europe), shipping, the buyer’s total, your profit after item cost and promotions, and the highest price that fits a buyer’s budget.
How it works
Buyer protection fee = item price × fee % + fixed part (Vinted US: 5% + $0.70; UK/EU: usually 3–8% + 0.30–0.80) · Buyer total = item price + fee + shipping · Seller payout = item price · Profit = price − item cost − promotions · Highest price for a buyer budget B = (B − shipping − fixed part) ÷ (1 + fee %)
Vinted does not charge private sellers a selling fee. Instead the buyer pays a buyer protection fee on every “Buy now” order, plus shipping. On Vinted US the fee is a fixed $0.70 plus 5% of the item price, excluding shipping and tax. Vinted UK and EU sites list the fee as a range, usually 3% to 8% of the price plus 0.30 to 0.80, varying with the item, the order value and bundles, so the calculator uses your figures (5% + 0.70 by default) as an estimate and shows the published range beside it. Your payout is the listed price, so the fee matters mainly because buyers compare the total they pay. Use the budget field when a buyer says how much they can spend in all: the calculator works back to the highest price that still covers the fee and shipping. Add what the item cost you and any Bumps or Spotlight you bought to see your real profit. Fees are rounded to the cent and can change, so treat the result as an estimate and check the breakdown Vinted shows at checkout.
Worked example
An item listed at 20 with the default 5% + 0.70 fee: the buyer protection fee is 20 × 5% + 0.70 = 1.70, so with 3.49 shipping the buyer pays 20 + 1.70 + 3.49 = 25.19, and the fee is 6.7% of their total. You receive the full 20. On Vinted UK the published range for this item is 20 × 3% + 0.30 = 0.90 up to 20 × 8% + 0.80 = 2.40. To receive 25 you list at 25, and the buyer then pays 25 + 1.95 + 3.49 = 30.44.

Frequently asked questions
Does Vinted take a fee from sellers?
No. Private sellers receive the full listed price; the buyer pays the buyer protection fee and shipping on top. The only seller costs are optional promotions such as Bumps and Wardrobe Spotlight.
How much is the Vinted buyer protection fee?
On Vinted US it is $0.70 plus 5% of the item price, so a $40 item has a $2.70 fee. Vinted UK and EU sites list it as usually 3–8% plus £0.30–£0.80 (or €0.30–€0.80); a typical estimate is 5% plus 0.70, which gives £1.70 on a £20 item.
Is the buyer protection fee charged on shipping?
No. The percentage applies to the item price agreed between buyer and seller, not to shipping, other costs or taxes. A bundle is charged on the bundle price.
How do I price an item so the buyer pays a set total?
Subtract shipping and the fixed part of the fee from the buyer’s total, then divide by 1 plus the fee percentage. With a £30 budget, £3.49 shipping and 5% + £0.70: (30 − 3.49 − 0.70) ÷ 1.05 = £24.58. Enter the budget under More options to get this rounded to the cent.
Why is Vinted cheaper for sellers than eBay or Depop?
Because the fee moves to the buyer. On eBay or Depop the seller pays a percentage of the sale; on Vinted the seller keeps the price and the buyer pays about 5% plus 0.70 more. Buyers see a higher total, so many sellers price slightly lower on Vinted to compensate.
